[September 14]
As I grew up, I learned how to properly apply makeup by reading magazines and watching tutorials. I dreamed of getting all those expensive products and trying them on. I was totally hyped.
But after watching Miss Kitty do a demo on makeup, I realized that you really don't need to be brand-savvy. Cash-strapped people like me can always find cheaper alternatives but still have good results. Just remember to invest on the basics, such as brushes. Also, be careful to stay away from lead-laced makeup. One simple way to test if you're unsure is to take a bit of the product, then rub it on gold jewelry. If it turns black, then it's positive.
I wasn't able to try applying makeup, but I became the model. My partner was Janelle, and she did a great job on making me pretty! She shaped my eyebrows nicely, and as Miss Kitty said, pwede nyang maging sideline ang pagkilay. Hehehe. I somehow appreciated myself more after taking a good look on the mirror. I really liked my makeup that day because it looked so natural and it emphasized my brown eyes.
Next time, when I do my own makeup, I'll keep in mind the reminders that Miss Kitty taught us. There are certain colors that suit the eye and skin color, and there are techniques to different face and eye shapes. I'm looking forward to our high fashion makeup next meeting!
